HOME AGAIN EARLY SCHOOL . . . NURTURING THE WHOLE CHILD SINCE 1981
|
WHAT IS HOME AGAIN? Home Again Early School is a home-based nursery school/day care for children ages 2 1/2 through 6 incorporating Waldorf and Montessori philosophies. Its emphasis is on the arts, and the physical, social and emotional development of each child. Children are taught positive behavior through non-violent (peaceful) play. Academics and group activities allow for individuality in learning and creativity in expression. Home Again believes that each child has unique talents along with an infinite capacity for absorbing knowledge. All areas of the child's intelligences are nurtured to allow for balanced growth and motivation to learn about the world and themselves.
SETTING Home Again's "home" is in a neighborhood setting one block from the High Line Canal and a short walk to the park, providing trails for nature walks and exploration. The atmosphere inside Home Again is non-institutionalized with all rooms of the home used by the children.
CALENDAR The school operates year-round from September to September. It is closed on seven major holidays, one week in December for Winter Break, one week in April for Spring Break, and two weeks in August for vacation.
